As an AV Engineer within the Employee Technology Support (ETS) team, you will use your expertise in Audio Visual technologies to help Bloomberg design, deploy, maintain, and evolve the next generation of collaboration spaces, applications, and infrastructure services for our global workforce. 

Working across multiple concurrent projects, you will assist in the design, build, and continuous enhancement of AV environments and the tools that support them. You will oversee the technical delivery of projects and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Facilities, IT, Design, Procurement, end users, and external trades and vendors to ensure clear direction, alignment, and successful execution. 

In this role, you will lead regional AV initiatives across the Americas while partnering closely with global teams to maintain consistency in standards, technology strategy, and user experience. 

You will be a core member of the Americas AV Team, supporting the design, implementation, commissioning, deployment, and ongoing evolution of systems including conference rooms, meeting rooms, training rooms, specialty spaces, in-house production spaces, IPTV, and paging systems across New York and the Americas region. You will also contribute to the development of AV technology standards, processes, and best practices for design, deployment, and support across these environments. 

You will work closely with the support team to determine trends and iterate on designs to improve stability and provide troubleshooting support when equipment issues are escalated. 

You will also partner with business and operations teams to deliver both internally developed and third-party collaboration platforms, applications, and productivity tools for Bloomberg employees.

You'll Need To Have 

  • 7 years of AV experience in a commercial or corporate environment 
  • Design and implementation experience within conference rooms, meeting rooms, training rooms, event spaces, live production spaces, and specialty environments 
  • Experience leading global project planning, implementation, commissioning, and deployment of AV systems and technologies 
  • Advanced knowledge of video conferencing platforms and troubleshooting (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, etc.) 
  • Deep understanding of Q-SYS system design, deployment, and administration 
  • Q-SYS Certification required 
  • Audio DSP, video processing, and control system platform proficiency including Biamp, Q-SYS, Extron, Christie, Crestron, Dante, Planar, Shure Axient, and Ross Ultrix 
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, network topology, and current AVoIP technologies 
  • Foundational AV control system programming knowledge 
  • Experience managing project budgets and financial planning 
  • Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams including IT, Facilities, Design, Procurement, end users, consultants, contractors, and vendors 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate from AV infrastructure plans, architectural drawings, and design documentation 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and time management skills 
  • Ability to work and think independently, self-organize, and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and successful in a fast-paced environment 
  • Commitment to strategic thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement

We'd Love To See 

  • Live event production support experience including video switchers, audio mixing, lighting, and camera systems 
  • Extensive understanding of current AV technologies and industry trends 
  • Experience with event space technologies and production workflows 
  • Firsthand experience with virtual event platforms 
  • Robust experience with AV/IT convergence 
  • Experience with IPTV, Digital Signage, and Paging systems 
  • Knowledge of network security principles and vulnerability management best practices 
  • AV industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, Dante Certification, or similar 
  • Formal education in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical field 
  • A passion for improving systems, challenging the status quo, and delivering exceptional user experiences 


Salary Range = 125,000 - 160,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
