Our Team:
BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking a talented and highly motivated Editor to join our Editorial team. The BNEF team is a small global team that works across BNEF’s publications and events, editing research reports spanning commodities, policy, clean energy, transportation and energy-related innovation. The role will be based in Asia, preferably in Hong Kong, Singapore or Tokyo.
To succeed in this role you will have a keen interest in the challenges of decarbonization, data-based research and the narratives around one of the biggest stories of our time. The editor will be responsible for editing, coaching analysts in writing, producing shorter stories on research topics themselves as well as helping build engagement through networking across Bloomberg product and news teams.
BNEF Team Ethos:
To succeed at BNEF we need people who can work in an independent manner and show initiative to develop their own viewpoints, yet be collaborative with colleagues. We don’t rely on the status quo, we look for innovative yet pragmatic thinking that turns big ideas into real insights and impact. Working at BNEF sometimes feels chaotic; we need teams that are both dynamic and structured to generate the unique perspectives our clients really value.
We'll trust you to:
- Work on a wide range of tasks and engage with analysts and reporters globally to develop clear data-based narratives that are read by decision-makers around the world
- Demonstrate the ability to absorb volumes of information, work at pace and adapt to developments in editorial tools and products
- Be familiar with charting and data graphics, as well as the usual editing suites
- Work in a varied team while also being able to operate autonomously and take initiative
You'll need to have:
- At least three years of experience editing or writing news or research
- Experience as an editor of long and short reports
- Experience in commodities, energy transition or climate change
- Experience working in a real-time publishing environment
- Experience training and coaching reporters or analysts

- Good technical skills, including with charting and data visualization
- Interest in working with AI tools in research production
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
