The Middle East and Africa team continues to expand following strong double digit growth year on year, while benefiting from significant investment into the region in expanding the commercial and the editorial footprint into Africa. For example, Bloomberg recently launched  Bloomberg Horizons Middle East & Africa  – anchored from Dubai and Johannesburg.  Bloomberg now also hosts global events such as the Qatar Economic Forum Powered by Bloomberg in Doha, and Bloomberg Power Players in Jeddah.   

Bloomberg Media has an exciting new role for an experienced Business Director to join the team and focus on key markets and clients across the Middle East and Africa. The individual will be responsible for managing a territory and all aspects of building strategic partnerships with governments / high-level government stakeholders and tier one corporate entities utilising our global platforms across TV, digital, print and events. Embodying the consultative sales approach, this role will build trust and deep relationships to grow existing business relationships while also driving new opportunities. The position is based in Dubai and will include working closely with our counterparts around the world. This role requires a self-starter to identify opportunities and target them strategically.

The ideal candidate will be a go-getter, who thrives on working in a fast paced environment and possesses a can-do attitude with a proven track record for growing advertising and events revenue through strategic partnerships. You should be able to demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking in delivering integrated programs against a set of client led objectives and how these manifest themselves through media properties. You are able to show how you use research, analysis and creativity to build sales cases and audience justifications. You'll harness the power of our data and resources to maximize resonance and revenue while driving growth for our business. You'll partner with our internal teams to create innovative and custom ad experiences that deliver on advertiser objectives.

  • Deliver exceptional standards of customer service, anticipating client/agency needs and engaging with multiple internal teams to provide high quality solutions
  • Successfully initiate, plan, deliver and co-ordinate best-in-class media/content partnerships
  • Develop and constantly refine your own long-term strategic business plan for growth
  • Deliver a growth mindset, think creatively, and utilize data driven decision making to satisfy each client

You’ll need to have/be:

  • Atleast 10 years ad sales experience at a media company
  • A consultative strategic sales approach utilising proprietary data sets
  • A confident, empathetic, self-aware collaborator – internally and externally
  • Self-motivated and highly driven with an appetite for new business and business development
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented and analytical approach
  • A compelling, articulate communicator and storyteller / strong presentation skills
  • A clear understanding of advertising across platforms
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and agencies at all levels
  • Led revenue attainment through customer obsession. Track record of planning toward (including sales plans, pipelines, forecasting) and delivering revenue targets to achieve growth
  • Commitment to Customer Service: Coverage of the entire client and agency relationship at an account level
