Editor, Industry Newsletters

Smarter, Faster, and as always - First. That's our philosophy. Bloomberg Media empowers global business leaders with breaking news, expert opinion and proprietary data distributed on every platform, across every time zone. Like our products and solutions - our teams are agile, dynamic, and innovative. We work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy for which we're known. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We challenge each other. And through our countless volunteer projects, we help bring out the best in our communities as around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.

Bloomberg Digital is looking for an editor to take the lead on a major newsletter effort. Your primary responsibility will be to launch and grow a suite of industry specific newsletters so our readers don’t miss a beat. Whether it’s content, format, branding, headlines, utility — the ideal candidate will know what makes a newsletter an invaluable read.
As part of the Digital Editorial team, you'll work directly alongside news editors and the product teams to launch the best possible product. You will be responsible for editing these newsletters and should be attuned to what our readers need in an industry-focused newsletter. You'll need to be informed across a range of industries, as well as deeply plugged into trends in the newsletter space to keep readers subscribed and engaged as they look to cut through the noise of financial and company news or make sense of major economic developments.
The role is a mix of high-level strategy, editing and on-the-ground daily operations; you'll be identifying areas for growth while establishing best practices. You will also be expected to dive into analytics to spot opportunities for improvement and you’ll work closely with the audience team on promotional strategies and discoverability.

We'll trust you to:
Leverage news summaries to build out a mix of different industry newsletters, working closely with the beat reporting teams
Be collaborative and communicative as you work with stakeholders, and confident to work across the organization.
Think strategically about reader engagement and newsletter growth.
Scour analytics to drive editorial decisions and best practices.

You’ll need to have:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a newsroom and experience editing newsletters.
An understanding of business and financial news and an interest in topics across culture and society.
A strong knowledge of the tools and trends in the newsletter space and a familiarity with metrics.
Experience and understanding of search and digital platforms
