The Global Production team literally spans the globe with units based in New York, London and Hong Kong and we support a thriving newsroom that not only includes live and pre-recorded video programs, but audio, digital platforms and live events. With over 2,700 news professionals in 150 bureaus across 73 countries- we face exciting challenges every minute of every day.
We are looking for a Field Desk Coordinator to join the Global Production team in Hong Kong. The APAC Field Desk Coordinator requires a strong set of planning and logistics skills as well as a robust knowledge of modern field production and live events. Our group is extremely nimble and supports video production shoots across Asia Pacific with high frequency in Hong Kong, Singapore and Mainland China. You will be a part of our Hong Kong bureau and interact across all the media verticals that Bloomberg has to offer.
We’ll trust you to:
- Coordinate and execute high‑quality TV/video shoots across Asia, working closely with producers, newsroom teams, and on‑air talent.
- Manage multiple field production requests simultaneously, maintaining clear communication with freelance crews and internal stakeholders.
- Build and manage production budgets, handle invoices, and maintain accurate financial tracking
- Leverage a strong network of field crews and studios, conducting site surveys and overseeing field operations as needed
- Demonstrate solid practical knowledge of modern field production and live event workflows, including equipment and logistics coordination
- Innovate and streamline scheduling, planning tools, and internal communication systems to support effective project management
- Operate calmly under pressure in a fast‑paced newsroom environment, adapting quickly as news events evolve
- Ensure smooth end‑to‑end execution by coordinating equipment, personnel, and compliance with local regulations and cultural considerations
You’ll need to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- At least 3 years of experience in project management and video production, preferably within the APAC region
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and manage several shoots or campaigns simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of video shoot operations, including basic camera, lighting, and audio principles
- Comfort with new software tools, cloud‑based systems, and proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- Flexibility to work weekends or holidays as needed in a news‑driven environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Weekly Hours:
This role typically requires 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday (approximately 5 hours per day). The position is fully on-site, and you are expected to work from the office each day. Standard working hours begin at 8:00 a.m., with flexibility to adjust the start time based on individual preference and business needs.
