What's the role?

People are Bloomberg's most critical assets and ensuring their success through the measurement of individual performance is the key to our success. As the HR Team Leader for Editorial & Research, and Media, you will work with your team to foster strong professional relationships with the business to maximize the success of our employees. You will spearhead the design and delivery of people and organization development strategies in support of Bloomberg's strategic and operational plans across Asia Pacific. You will ensure team alignment across regions and advocate for continuous organizational performance improvement. You will coach, develop, and lead the team, helping to solve complex problems while being "hands on" across all other aspects of the role.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Understand the vision, purpose, and strategy of the Editorial & Research, and Media business as well as the competitive landscape and external market trends to design and implement a commercial HR strategy
  • Operate as a player-coach to cultivate a team of diverse HR Business Partners who are committed to engaging and retaining top talent within their own team and the broader HR function
  • Design, develop, and execute on all aspects of talent management, always through a diversity and inclusion lens
  • Implement initiatives to foster a high-performance culture, where diversity and continuous improvement is the norm
  • Influence and challenge senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure a long-term view on leadership development, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Create and deliver organizational development (including organization design and workforce planning) as well as change management strategies that support our ambition to be a high performing organization
  • Provide a detailed and compelling insight of the current Editorial & Research, and Media, businesses using a range of analytical tools and provocative HR analytics and diagnosis; use this to understand performance improvement, barriers and potential solutions to improve organizational capability
  • Leverage robust data insights to develop creative HR strategies for your team, including human capital agenda, critical talent decisions, organizational design, employee development, retention strategies/programs, etc.
  • Partner with the Employee Relations team to navigate complex employee relations issues, whilst providing counselling and coaching to key stakeholders
  • Influence your HR Business Partner team to cultivate strong partnerships with Diversity and Inclusion, Recruitment, Compensation, Talent Development and HR Operations
  • Partner with the broader HR team, Recruitment, Talent, Diversity & Inclusion to help develop cohesive regional talent strategies
  • Provide Business Partner coverage to one or more business areas including driving HR support around reorganizations, promotions, and other strategic decisions

You'll need to have:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience leading a team and developing people.
  • A minimum of 10 years as a Strategic HR Generalist/HR Business Partner in a large global organisation supporting a population spread across multiple locations, ideally across the APAC region
  • Experience supporting large scale transformation programs as a subject matter authority, including workforce planning and organisational design, ideally within an international financial, technology or professional services organisation
  • Excellent execution and organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across various HR speciality to find efficiencies to get things done
  • A proactive, can-do approach with the business, sound commercial acumen, and the innate ability to challenge and influence senior leaders
  • A track record of Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert data and research into measurable HR trends
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a high volume workload with a flexible approach
  • Proficiency in relevant labour laws and the ability to mitigate risk on behalf of the organization
  • Ability to be decisive and demonstrate strong judgement
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
  • Bachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
