Bloomberg News is seeking a Health Team Leader for the Americas to lead coverage of an industry in the midst of profound transformation, shaped by dramatic policy shifts, rising costs and an aging population.
Overseeing coverage of pharmaceuticals and biotech companies, hospitals and pharmacies, care providers and insurers, we're looking for an experienced, knowledgeable manager to anchor a talented team of reporters that generates scoops, keeps up with fast-breaking news and produces memorable and impactful enterprise journalism.

The successful candidate will leverage insights into major companies in this sector to galvanize reporters to break stories important to our Terminal clients and digital subscribers. They will commission ambitious stories for Big Take, Bloomberg's daily showcase of in-depth, original reporting; the Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets magazines; and around-the-clock radio and television programming.

Success in this role depends on sound journalistic judgment, subject-matter expertise, financial literacy and the ability to collaborate across teams and our newsrooms around the globe. The Team Leader must bring professionalism and cooperate effectively with editors and reporters across the newsroom to move coverage forward with clarity, rigor and impact.

We'll entrust you to:
  • Drive breaking news on some of the world’s most scrutinized companies, while elevating ambition around investigations and enterprise
  • Develop distinctive long-form journalism for Big Take, Businessweek, and multimedia platforms
  • Partner seamlessly with teams across Bloomberg — including Markets, Deals, Tech, Politics, Data, Visuals, Audio and Video — to deliver cohesive, high-impact coverage
  • Further the newsroom's efforts to expand our private company coverage
  • Coach and inspire team leaders and reporters, fostering a culture that values collaboration, rigor, originality and speed
  • Ensure coverage is deeply sourced, authoritative and clearly differentiated from competitors
  • Lead coverage of some of the most important and competitive corporate stories in the world
  • Push teams to deliver scoops, sharp analysis and original enterprise that sets the agenda
  • Champion a team-agnostic culture, where editors jump into coverage and collaborate freely
  • Develop editors and reporters, helping them do the best work of their careers
  • Spot opportunities to innovate in storytelling across text, video, audio and visual journalism

What we're looking for:

A seasoned newsroom leader with sharp editorial judgment, competitive drive and exceptional collaborative instincts.

The ideal candidate is a confident, diplomatic manager who knows how to bring people together across beats, regions and personalities. You should be comfortable operating at the intersection of breaking news and long-range ambition — equally adept at making fast calls under pressure and nurturing complex, multi-month projects.

Salary Range = 130000 - 180000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
