Our team
The Bloomberg Indirect Tax team in London is part of the Global Accounting operations. The Indirect Tax team consists of separate Advisory and Compliance sub-teams that report to the Global Head of Indirect Tax. The Indirect Tax Advisory team is responsible for advising on all global Indirect Tax matters outside of North America.
In addition to supporting the Compliance team on technical matters, the Indirect Tax Advisory team is responsible for (i) monitoring and implementing emerging country developments such as electronically supplied services (ESS) rules and digital services tax (DST) changes to ensure Bloomberg satisfies requirements; (ii) providing Indirect Tax advice and support to various parts of the business; and (iii) getting involved with Indirect Tax projects, including process/systems changes.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an advisory position in Bloomberg’s Indirect Tax Advisory team based in London. You will be responsible for providing commercially-focused VAT/GST technical advice to the organisation globally, supporting all areas but with a focus on taking ownership of ESS country developments. You will report directly to the Indirect Tax Advisory team lead.
We will trust you to
- Work with the London Indirect Tax team and regional tax teams in APAC and LATAM to determine in a timely manner where Bloomberg has a requirement/forthcoming requirement to register for VAT/GST. Specifically, tracking global ESS changes and the impact to Bloomberg.
- Provide VAT/GST advice on new products that Bloomberg develops and new legal entity structures.
- Contribute to global VAT/GST technical projects, such as intercompany reviews.
- Review commercial agreements such as customer and vendor contracts, tax indemnifications etc.
- Be involved in VAT/GST audits including liaising with local bookkeepers/advisors.
- Develop the VAT/GST technical skillset of the global tax team members.
You must have
- Ability to work in a fast moving and constantly changing environment.
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience working in VAT/GST.
- Experience with VAT/GST matters in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector.
- Experience working in industry.
Nice to have
- Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification.
- Familiarity with global DST rules.
