We are seeking an ambitious and experienced reporter to join our Japanese-language coverage of markets. The position will focus on currencies and bonds. From time to time, you may also be called on to help with coverage of other markets, such as stocks.

The role requires versatility to pivot between breaking news and analysis of market trends. It also requires the ability to work across multiple news platforms from live blogs to the web and the Bloomberg Terminal. Bloomberg caters to an audience ranging from professional investors at financial institutions to retail traders. We need a reporter who understands the needs of these different readers.
You are a self-starter who thrives on the fast pace of markets and a real-time news environment. When not on a deadline, you'll be cultivating market sources, developing story ideas and collaborating with teammates to help Bloomberg News shine a light on Japanese markets.
Japan is going through a once-in-a-generation change in its markets, with international investors flooding back, and individual Japanese increasingly pouring their savings into personal investments, providing a wealth of opportunities to write impactful stories.
We'll trust you to:
- Deliver concise stories and blog posts to explain market flows and analyze trends
- Generate and craft content that captures "what's happening and why" and "what it means" - against the backdrop of local and global trends
- Utilize and learn Bloomberg data and analytics to tell visually appealing stories
- Have a multimedia approach, keeping in mind our digital readership
- Maintain a culture of urgency, innovation and strong news judgement
- Demonstrate ability to break down silos and communicate across the newsroom
- Collaborate across teams, including working with English-language content reporters to ensure comprehensive and timely coverage
You'll need to have:
- At least 3 years of experience in financial journalism reporting and writing in Japanese, preferably covering markets, or comparable experience in a relevant industry role
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Business English at an intermediate level
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- A strong work ethic and solid organizational skills with a collaborative team spirit, the drive to innovation

主な業務内容
- マーケットの資金フローやトレンドを分かりやすく伝える、簡潔な記事やブログの執筆
- 「何が起きているのか」「なぜ起きているのか」「それが何を意味するのか」を、国内外の動向を踏まえて分析・発信
- ブルームバーグのデータや分析ツールを活用し、視覚的にも分かりやすいコンテンツを制作
- デジタル読者を意識したマルチメディアでの情報発信
- スピード感、革新性、適切なニュース判断を重視した報道の実践
- 部門の垣根を越えた円滑なコミュニケーション
- 英語チームを含む他チームと連携し、網羅的かつタイムリーな報道を実現
応募資格
- 日本語での金融ジャーナリズム（特にマーケット分野）の取材・執筆経験が3年以上、または関連分野での同等の実務経験
- プレッシャーの下でも冷静に業務を遂行できる方
- 組織内で継続的に成長してきた実績のある方
- 高いプロ意識と優れた業務遂行能力を持ち、チームワークを大切にしながら新しい取り組みに積極的に挑戦できる方
