• Be a self-driver with excellent news judgment and the ability to develop sources across the industry as needed to ensure we are competitive on the biggest stories
• Be persistent and flexible enough to build various types of sources at each company on your beat
• Use your creativity to spot underlying themes or new trends in the industry
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams, groups, regions, and platforms, including working hand-in-hand with English-language reporters and editors

• At least 5 years of experience working in business journalism including writing for publication in Japanese
• A solid understanding of how Japanese companies operate and basic knowledge of the semiconductor industry
• Passion for career growth and willingness to embrace change
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
• A strong work ethic; and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Fluency in written and spoken Japanese; working level English would be an advantage
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
