The Financial Crimes Compliance Function within Bloomberg’s Legal and Compliance Department provides coverage of Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, as well as support for Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory issues, ensure compliance with current/developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators. Bloomberg has regulated activities that include regulated trading venues (e.g., U.K. Multilateral Trading Facility, U.S. Swap Execution Facility), a Recognised Market Operator in Singapore, Electronic Trading services, and other regulated offerings globally.


The Role:


Based in Mumbai, this is a great opportunity to join a dynamically growing, global  KYC Team and work closely with the company’s Anti-money Laundering (AML) and Compliance group.

The Know Your Customer Due Diligence Analyst will be focused on conducting KYC due diligence reviews for Bloomberg Businesses. The role involves having a deep understanding of the end-to-end customer due diligence process and strong knowledge of legal entity types. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid understanding of current regulatory requirements and financial industry standards relating to Customer Due Diligence.


We'll Trust You To:

  • Conduct end-to-end periodic and event-driven reviews
  • Analyse corporate structures and validate documentation to ensure compliance with internal procedures
  • Accurately risk assess new and existing clients, resolving appropriate issues where required
  • Perform Politically Exposed Person (PEP), Sanction and Adverse Media screening and analyse the results to eliminate or confirm matches
  • Identify potential AML concerns to appropriate senior management during the KYC review process
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases clearly and concisely with well-supported risk rationale
  • Ensure KYC reviews meet defined quality standards, demonstrating high levels of accuracy, completeness, and consistency, and withstand internal and external audit scrutiny
  • Demonstrate a “right-first-time” approach while balancing productivity expectations
  • Manage multiple expectations of business partners and front office sales teams
  • Engage directly with regional and global clients, responding to client enquiries and supporting client calls in a professional and competent manner
  • Perform client static data updates within the internal systems and ensure validation of collected documents as per internal procedures
  • Contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of KYC processes, procedures, and controls as part of a newly formed team
  • Act as a subject-matter contributor, sharing best practices and helping shape consistent standards across the team
  • Identify process gaps, quality issues, or operational risks and proactively propose solutions
  • Develop and conduct training for sales and team members as and when necessary


You'll Need To Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in KYC
  • Knowledge of standard KYC requirements within the financial services sector
  • Experience of analysing complex company legal structures
  • Experience with PEPs, Sanctions and Adverse Media screening
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality KYC reviews, demonstrating strong accountability and ownership for assigned client portfolios
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated focus on accuracy, attention to detail and consistency when performing KYC analysis and documenting reviews and client profiles
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines/set targets
  • Dedication to resolve pending queries or concerns in a timely manner


We'd Love To See:

  • Experience of CDD Quality Assurance
  • Experience reviewing clients incorporated in different jurisdictions globally
  • Detailed and practical knowledge of KYC/AML requirements for the UK, EU, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia
  • In-House Financial Services experience
  • A motivated, dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrates long-term commitment
  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g. Portuguese, Mandarin/Cantonese, Arabic) would be a strong advantage
