Bloomberg Media is seeking a versatile Multimedia Graphic Design Artist to visualize complex stories and show brands across markets, finance, politics, and technology. This role is tailored for a generalist, unique in its dual-track nature: you will translate data into compelling motion graphics while working alongside our global newsroom. Responsible for designing and producing premium motion graphics for both fast-turnaround and longer-term projects across broadcast, digital, and social media.

Additionally, you will handle high-fidelity set design projects for our Live studio immersive LED and Plasma environments. Creating a dynamic backdrop for the global Bloomberg studio's panoramic walls, defining the tone and reinforcing the branding for our live and taped Programming.

Working collaboratively with producers, journalists, technical directors, and design directors, you will ensure Bloomberg’s visual standards are upheld across every screen, from smartphones to studio sets.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Data Visualization
  • High-Quality Asset Creation: Design compelling visual assets, including creative animations, motion graphics, data visualizations, complex charts, and maps, while ensuring strict adherence to Bloomberg standards and branding guidelines.
  • Breaking News: Work effectively under pressure, actively pivoting to evolving news events to deliver precise elements on a quick, concise timeline without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
  • Sourcing: Utilize Bloomberg’s internal video/image libraries and external third-party resources with meticulous attention to detail and sourcing accuracy.
Immersive Studio & Set Design
  • Environment Design: Conceptualize and execute high-fidelity backgrounds for LED and Plasma studio video walls that maintain professional broadcast aesthetics.
  • Broadcast Optimization: Calibrate all on-screen graphics for the camera lens, managing color science and technical hurdles, and maintain perspective and parallax.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Directors and Lighting Designers to ensure digital backgrounds seamlessly integrate with physical set pieces and studio lighting.
Workflow & Collaboration
  • Project Management: Navigate the full production lifecycle from concept to completion, ensuring all media storage and project organization follow industry best practices.
  • Creative Partnering: Collaborate with producers, journalists, and editors to elevate content through proactive creative pitching and design expertise.
You’ll Need to Have:
  • Experience: 3+ years in a high-pressure broadcast network or a specialized design agency.
  • Technical Mastery: Adobe Creative Suite: Expert-level After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Adaptability: The ability to work independently or as part of a team, remaining flexible with hours when on deadline or during breaking news (including nights/weekends).
  • Portfolio: A reel that highlights a sophisticated data visualization and large-scale studio/LED graphics.

Salary Range = 100000 - 115000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
