Our Operational Resilience Group works alongside our front-line teams in Product, Data, Technology and second-line teams in Risk and Compliance to design, implement, and embed resilience principles across Bloomberg. The Group works to continuously enhance the firmwide operational resilience strategy, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the resilience of Bloomberg's services remains a strong, positive differentiator in the eyes of clients, regulators, and other external stakeholders.

What’s the role?
The Operational Resilience Program is structured across multiple dimensions. The “horizontal” workstreams, owned by the Operational Resilience Group, encompass the key components that enable us to set strategy and enable the embedment of resilience principles across Bloomberg… that’s where you come in. 

We’re looking for an experienced professional who will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and validating resilience mapping and testing methodologies. This includes identifying key services, driving an approach for prioritization, and guiding impact tolerances. This role will also support the creation and execution of realistic disruption scenarios to assess the resilience of services, including managing post-exercise activities and using insights from testing to coordinate the continuous improvement of Bloomberg’s resilience capabilities.

This role demands a highly organized, strategic thinker with experience in operational resilience, project management, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and drive the successful execution of this critical initiative.

We’ll trust you to:
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of key components of the Operational Resilience Program
  • Demonstrate and maintain a deep understanding of operational resilience industry practices and related regulations (DORA, UK CTP, etc.), staying up-to-date on any changes, and translating these requirements into actionable plans
  • Manage delivery in a federated model across business and functional areas to timely and successful outcomes, ensuring alignment of priorities and work across the organization

You’ll need to have:
  • 10+ years of experience in operational resilience or risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery, information security
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Prior management or leadership experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders on operational and technological topics
  • Practical knowledge of risks and controls that impact an organization’s resilience posture (e.g., business disruption, damage to assets, system failure)
  • Ability to gather and understand feedback from stakeholders, and then apply it to identify problems and create opportunities for efficiencies to improve processes
  • Quick learner who can work as a part of a cross-functional team and individually as a self-starter, as well as pivot based in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Sound judgment and an ability to serve as a strategic partner, suggesting new ideas, accepting, and implementing feedback, and advising stakeholders (of all management levels)
  • Strong program management skills and track record of successfully leading complex and impactful initiatives  
  • Expertise in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google sheets, Google slides, Google docs

We’d love to see: 
  • Previous experience in operational resilience at a technology or financial services firm, with a knowledge of regulations and industry standards
  • Exposure to business’ technical landscape and/or familiarity with financial markets 
  • Strong collaborator who understands the complexity of entertaining multiple audiences and navigating their diverse interests and goals
Salary Range = 160,000 - 200,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
