Description & Requirements
How Bloomberg measures product usage directly impacts how we price, bill, and scale our business. Metering is a critical foundation for enabling consumption based models, ensuring revenue accuracy, and supporting the firm’s continued growth.
We are looking for a Product Owner to help drive the adoption and evolution of Bloomberg’s metering platform, partnering with teams across the organization to onboard products, improve data accuracy, and ensure we reliably capture client activity at scale.
What’s the role?
As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in executing and shaping the metering strategy within the Quote-to-Bill (Q2B) lifecycle. You will work across the organization to onboard consumption based products onto Bloomberg’s metering platform, ensuring accurate measurement of client activity and alignment with commercial models.
Through this work, you will help enable scalable growth, improve operational efficiency, and ensure revenue is captured accurately based on how clients use Bloomberg products and services.
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong product thinking, stakeholder influence, and the ability to navigate complex system dependencies.
Metering is foundational to how Bloomberg delivers and monetizes its products. Improvements in this space directly impact:
- Revenue accuracy and recognition
- Operational efficiency and cost reduction
- Client trust and transparency
- Scalability of new commercial models
This role offers the opportunity to drive high impact, firmwide change by improving one of the most critical layers of the Quote-to-Bill lifecycle.
We’ll trust you to:
- Drive execution of the metering roadmap in partnership with product leadership
- Partner with Product Teams to onboard consumption based products onto the metering platform
- Ensure alignment between product usage, metering logic, and commercial models
- Identify and address gaps in metering accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency
- Define and track success metrics (e.g., accuracy, onboarding time, manual intervention rates)
- Use data and user feedback to inform decisions and improve outcomes
- Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Commercial Operations, Legal, and Compliance to align on priorities and tradeoffs
- Support rollout and adoption through clear communication, training, and feedback loops
- Translate product goals into clear, actionable work for engineering teams
You’ll need to have:
- 5+ years of product management experience, delivering products in complex, system-driven environments
- Strong execution skills with the ability to drive progress across multiple teams
- Experience working with platforms or internal products with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to understand and navigate interconnected workflows (usage → metering → billing)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes in complex systems
- Experience using data to inform decisions and measure impact
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
We’d love to see:
- Experience with metering, billing, contracts, or financial systems
- Familiarity with consumption-based or usage-based commercial models
- Experience driving adoption of internal platforms across multiple product teams
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments and bringing structure to complex problems
- Experience influencing stakeholders without direct authority
