What's the role
Bloomberg Tax is currently seeking a Sales and Use Tax Specialist to join the team. The successful candidate should have a background in preparing multi-states sales and use tax refund claims, indirect tax returns, performing tax research, strong organization and time-management skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and be committed to delivering excellent service to internal and external business partners. Attention to detail, resourcefulness, the ability to multitask and a collaborative nature are essential to the team and are important in responding effectively to issues and requests from our business partners.

We’ll trust you to:
  • Prepare and assist in defense of sales and use tax refund claims
  • Perform data analytics for indirect tax projects
  • Research various indirect tax matters and document conclusions
  • Prepare indirect tax compliance, including sales and use, gross receipts, property and other business tax compliance
  • Participate in the defense of indirect tax audits and the calculation of indirect tax reserves and budgets
  • Track indirect tax developments and analyze their implications for products and services
  • Contribute to business and process improvement projects and support of company-wide initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams regarding various indirect tax accounting matters and indirect tax compliance
  • Support due diligence activities in connection with a variety of transactions and business plans

You’ll Need to Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2-5 years indirect tax experience including audit defense or reverse audit experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially creation and manipulation of Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP system
  • Experience with tax research tools, such as BTAX
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks

We’d Love to See:
  • Experience with Vertex
  • Experience with Power Query or Alteryx

Salary Range = 95000 - 115000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
