Our Data team supports the Bloomberg Industry Group (INDG) business, which offers outstanding tools, search, and analytics for products in the areas of Law, Government and Tax.  Bloomberg is changing the legal industry by delivering the most sophisticated research platform on the market with a focus on automation, analytics and real-time answers. INDG provides users with fast access to legal content and analysis, practice tools, company information and market intelligence through advanced search & analytic capabilities.

We are committed to changing the way professionals conduct their day to day tasks by automating research and providing analytical solutions to help them get real-time answers and better serve their clients. We extract knowledge from hundreds of millions of legal documents and build intelligent models to enable our customers to get the right answers quickly!
 
The INDG Core Content team is a collection of legal & data professionals responsible for the acquisition, transformation, and maintenance of core data and related workflows. These resources include but are not limited to primary source materials like Federal and State Legislative and Regulatory data, as well as Agency content, while also supporting secondary source materials, like News, Manuals, Portfolios, & Chartbuilders produced by INDG, as well as Books & Treatises provided by a variety of publishers. Core Content works closely with Editorial and Product staffs to stay abreast of dynamic client needs, as well as with Engineering to ensure the integrity and enhancement of our workflow and data management processes.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Implement a variety of software solutions to extract, transform, and load data to the Bloomberg Law platform.
  • Find opportunities for increased efficiency in our existing workflows and processes to make a business impact.
  • Collaborate with fellow data analysts, Engineering, and Bloomberg Industry Group staff to devise creative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, scope and develop project plans.

You’ll need to have:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Applied proficiency with at least one programming/scripting language (Javascript, XSLT, Python and/or SQL)
  • Proven ability with mark-up languages (XML, SGML, JSON and/or HTML) and XPath
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project management and strong organizational skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship now and in the future

We’d like to see:

  • Legal knowledge and/or experience
  • Experience with textual data
  • Juris Doctor a plus

Salary Range = 85000 - 105000 USD Annually + Benefits

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
