The Team:

 
The Portfolios team is responsible for the data management of Mutual Funds and ETF portfolio holdings, as well as public portfolios such as government investment pools and Collateralized Loan Obligations. As a result, the group maintains relationships with market participants to directly source unique, valuable content while using technology to acquire and process publicly available information. Overall, this aggregated, cleansed, and normalized data fuels functions, supports News, and enables our clients to follow the money flows. 


What’s the Role? 


A Senior Data Management Professional is a key role within our organization responsible for optimizing the value of our data for clients and improving our data operations. They act as technical leaders setting the strategy for data products, developing interconnected data models, designing data architectures, ensuring data quality, and using various techniques, including programming and statistical methods, to extract valuable insights from data. They are expected to be problem solvers, effective communicators, and versatile at balancing technical expertise with a product-focused approach. 


We'll Trust You To:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processes that interact with our corporate action database 
  • Apply technologies to tackle problems and optimize current processes in areas such as data quality, data acquisition, operations, reliability, and content alongside domain experts and technical account managers 
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of external partners and internal groups including Engineering, Product and Sales on strategic product development and execution 
  • Use statistics and data visualization to generate insights about ongoing operations and projects and communicate the results effectively 
  • Incorporate machine learning and statistics to detect anomalies and drive quality improvement in areas such as accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability 
  • Communicate with impact, ensuring sophisticated information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences including senior leaders 
  • Maintain detailed documentation describing the purpose and technical specifications of services built by our team.

You'll Need to Have: 

  • A BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience 
  • 4+ years’ experience in data analysis, financial market research, and/or information technology 3+ years of Python programming and scripting in a production environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with databases either SQL or NoSQL
  • Strong interest in problem solving particularly to modify and enhance processes and workflows in innovative ways 
  • Understanding of Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, and Data Analytics
  • Understanding and experience of large-scale, distributed systems 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly to modify and improve processes and workflows 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical processes and solutions to business partners and management 
  • High attention to detail and degree of shown decision-making and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a distributed team environment as well as influence others and lead change 
  • Experience in mentoring and teaching data skills to others

We’d Love to See: 

  • Knowledge of the Mutual Fund and ETF markets, along with the securities that make up the portfolios 
  • Agile/scrum project management experience
  • Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikSense

Salary Range = 110000 - 190000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
