The People Data team provides our clients with a unique dataset of corporate executives, directors, and individuals moving the market to identify risks and opportunities via unconventional financial analysis. Factors including corporate governance, executive pay for performance, and corporate diversity have become a crucial piece to forming business decisions with deeper level company intelligence.

The Role:

The People Data team is looking for a Data Product Owner passionate about developing the commercialization strategy for our company leadership data offering across Private Markets. In this role, you will be expected to drive the strategy and be the link that connects the team, product, and datasets with its users. This position requires extensive collaboration with global colleagues and partners such as Product, News, Bloomberg Intelligence, Sales & Analytics, our Data Governance team, Engineering, and most importantly external clients. You will need to be able to navigate through unknowns and ambiguity while making impactful decisions and be the driving force for solutions.

We'll trust you to:

  • Develop data-driven strategies, balancing the best of technical and product knowledge, and work with our engineering and product departments to craft solutions
  • Define what a fit-for-purpose data product looks like, and ensure data product health metrics are readily measured and transparent
  • Identify, support, and develop strategies for new datasets
  • Take ownership of the quality of our Private Market Corporate Leadership and Director dataset making sure it is fit-for-purpose for clients
  • Lead and implement Data Quality projects based on evolving business prioritization and commercial landscapes
  • Make effective decisions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Mentor the People data team on industry trends, financial modeling, large and sophisticated data projects, and business initiatives

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or related field
  • 4+ years’ experience of professional work experience in Data Product Ownership or related field
  • Understanding of the mechanics of the Private Markets domain, ability to quantify trends impacting the industry, and ability to provide analysis that can shape commercial decisions
  • Deep knowledge of equity research, qualitative analysis, or industry analysis
  • A solid grasp of data management principles and technologies such as data modeling, data analysis and statistics to tell a narrative and/or generate data-driven insights
  • Strategic approach to align client needs with team goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to clearly communicate business needs
  • Proven ability to establish strong credibility and build influential relationships with multiple internal and external clients and partners
  • Understanding of data integration using multiple data sources
  • Creative and flexible approach to problem solving, aided by strong data analysis skills
  • Understanding of quality assurance and quality control from a data and product perspective
  • Proficiency using scripting languages (preferably Python) to query and interrogate datasets
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as QlikSense and tableau
  • Proven track record of effective project management and meeting deliverables

We’d love to see:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field and/or CFA designation (or working towards it)
  • Familiarity with Corporate Governance data
  • Experience or knowledge in Bloomberg products, Bloomberg terminal proficiency, and/or Bloomberg data workflows
  • Experience using statistical methods, programming, and machine learning approaches to promote and measure data quality and generate insights
  • Experience manipulating and wrangling large datasets
  • Experience profiling datasets and coming up with necessary requirements

Salary Range = 110000 - 170000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
