Our Team:
Our Fixed Income Primary Market Data team is responsible for the timely and accurate publication of new bonds being brought to market. Responsibilities also include developing automated pipelines for ingestion and publication of new issuance data, enhancing our primary markets dataset, and finding opportunities to expand our data product offering through client engagement and technical solutions. Our Primary Market team works closely with internal consumers of our data including the News, Evaluated Pricing, and Index teams. We also collaborate closely with our counterparts in Product, Sales & Engineering.
What’s the role?
As a Data Quality professional on the Corporate Bond Primary Market Data team, you'll help grow Bloomberg's offering of newly issued corporate bond data. We will trust you to use your problem-solving skills to maintain and improve the workflow of extracting, transforming and loading of timely, accurate and comprehensive data. You will work to identify innovative workflow efficiencies and implement technical solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes. Our Data Quality Engineers possess a unique combination of subject-matter-expertise in Fixed Income, good communication skills and ability to build relationships with various partners and market participants, as well as interest in technology or data management related tools.
We’ll trust you to:
- Be a domain expert who understands customer needs and markets to ensure data is fit for purpose, ready for use, and meets service level agreements
- Build strong relationships with Debt Capital Markets and other key partners to acquire and maintain high-quality data products that align with market needs
- Maintain, manage and safeguard the quality of our dataset, especially for the Japan bond market
- Proactively provide customer support and elevate our data offering by analysing data and trends, anticipating client needs and generating innovative ideas
- Develop, refine, and deliver the strategy for how to achieve best-in-class data quality, and champion organizational change to elevate data quality as a domain of data management
- Perform data profiling and apply statistical methods to support data quality measurements
- Collaborate with data stakeholders and engineering partners to translate high-impact questions into scalable solutions
You’ll need to have:
- 4+ years of recent work experience in data management (ideally financial data), for example improving data quality, accuracy, efficiency or timeliness
- Business proficiency in English and Japanese, as the role involves data coverage for the Japanese market and engagement with Japanese clients and market players
- Interest and aptitude to build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and a customer-centric approach
- Experience in developing and improving data quality metrics and reporting as a part of a bigger data architecture framework
- Understanding of ETL processes and broader data workflow engineering/ data quality concepts
- Demonstrable experience in Data Profiling/Analysis using tools such as Python, Qlik sense or SQL
- Ability to lead projects with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfort with a high degree of autonomy, and shown ability in handling priorities from multiple internal and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to take a logical approach and apply critical thinking skills in order to solve problems
