Our Team
The Technology Finance Group is responsible for the strategic planning, management and reporting for the firm’s Engineering and Chief Technology Office (CTO) divisions. In addition, we provide analysis, decision support, and execution support to these stakeholders, as well as to business and finance counterparts across Bloomberg.
What’s the role?
At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership.
We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to provide financial and operational reporting in support of the Engineering and CTO. As a leading member of this team, you will have the opportunity to deliver a unique blend of financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, and reporting and senior management support in a fast-paced and cutting-edge business.
We’ll trust you to:
- Provide deep dive analytics around Engineering and CTO Office P&Ls: could be headcount, could be T&E, could be allocation methodology - let’s experiment!
- Assist in the transformation of management reporting within the group via business intelligence tools to build dashboards, custom visualizations and ad hoc analysis on large data sets, using Excel, QLIK, Access, Tableau or other tools as needed.
- Manage, build and optimize information gathering processes on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or forecasting cycle basis.
- Review and present regular financial results packages for management; analyzing performance against forecasts and operational metrics, as well as historical headcount and expense trends. Our dashboards are so tired - wake them up.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes, and propose improvements to streamline the collection, use, and presentation of data.
- Manage ad hoc special projects or analysis including operational analytics for decision support to management.
You'll need to have:
- 4+ years of financial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related fields
- Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks are required
- Flexibility to work in a fast-moving environment
- Superior Microsoft Excel skills (VBA a plus)
We'd love to see:
- Experience in financial services or a financial data provider industry a strong plus
- Flexibility to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment
- High curiosity level and desire to learn
- Familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal is useful, but not required
- Enterprise software applications knowledge e.g. SAP
- Experience with data visualization applications e.g. Tableau or Qlik
