What's the role?

Bloomberg is seeking a creative, commercially minded, and people-focused Supply Chain Team Leader to join our Supply Chain Management team in Tokyo. In partnership with Supply Chain leadership across Asia Pacific, regional and global partners, and key internal stakeholders, this role is responsible for leading end-to-end Supply Chain Operations to deliver exceptional service to Bloomberg’s businesses and clients.

You will oversee daily operations across warehouse and inventory management, production, logistics, vendor management, and customer site support, while driving continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. This role also carries strong people leadership responsibilities, including coaching, developing, and engaging a high performing team.


We'll trust you to:
  • Lead and manage Supply Chain operations in Japan & Australia, ensuring service delivery aligns with Bloomberg’s global standards and local business requirements
  • Provide effective people leadership, including coaching, performance management, development planning, and fostering an inclusive, high performance team culture
  • Oversee day to day operations across: Warehouse and inventory management, Production and asset lifecycle management, Logistics (international, domestic, and last mile delivery), and return logistics
  • Use data and analytics to identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement process, policy, and cost optimization initiatives that enhance service quality and scalability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, external vendors, and cross functional partners (Customer support, on-site support team, finance, technology, planning, etc.)
  • Act as a trusted regional partner, collaborating with APAC Supply Chain leaders to drive consistency, alignment, and best practice sharing across markets
  • Support and lead change management initiatives, helping teams adapt to new tools, processes, and ways of working

You’ll need to be:
  • Self-motivated and resilient: comfortable working autonomously while remaining closely aligned with regional and global stakeholders
  • A clear and confident communicator: able to deliver concise, structured updates tailored to senior leaders, peers, and frontline teams
  • A collaborative partner: Skilled in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence across functions and cultures
  • Analytical and solution oriented: Comfortable using data to drive decisions and continuous improvement
  • Culturally aware: Able to operate effectively within a Japan-based business environment while working with regional/global team
  • Forward thinking and innovative: Willing to challenge the status quo, anticipate future risks, and propose scalable solutions

You'll need to have:
  • 6 –10 years of experience in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, or a related field, with leadership responsibilities
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end supply chain operations and leading teams through change
  • Strong experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a regional or global environment
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset
  • Hands-on experience with SAP and familiarity with data analysis/reporting tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools)
  • Fluency in Japanese (business level or native) and strong English communication skills
  • Experience in vendor management, logistics operations, and process improvement initiatives

We'd love to see: 
  • Experience working in a multinational or matrix organization
  • Exposure to APAC supply chain operations
  • Experience in change management or transformation projects
  • Comfort operating in both Japanese and English professional settings
