Bloomberg LP has built a significant media business spanning television, digital, magazine, radio and live event platforms across the globe. In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Bloomberg Originals to New Economy Forum.
We’re looking for a highly versatile and ambitious producer/shooter/editor to create short form news videos for Bloomberg Originals with stories stemming from the Bloomberg Newsroom. This role is built for a visual storyteller who can move with efficiency and accuracy from pitch to publish to create compelling video stories that explain the forces shaping business, technology, markets and global culture.
We’ll trust you to:
- Produce end-to-end video stories, from receiving a pitch all the way through publication — including research, pre-pro, scripting, field and studio production, editing and delivery
- Translate news and enterprise reporting into compelling short-form videos for digital and social audiences. The result will be dynamic, high-impact short-form videos that explain complex topics with clarity and strong visual storytelling
- Work on tight deadlines and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced news environment
- Film a variety of setups (interviews, activities, b-roll) in both studio and field
- Oversee freelance production crews, in person and remotely
- Edit quickly and efficiently in Adobe Premiere, incorporating original footage as well as stock and archival footage
- Collaborate with our creative design team to develop graphics and motion elements when appropriate
- Follow and refine processes to ensure clear and professional communication with Bloomberg Newsroom reporters and editors in order to maintain Bloomberg’s editorial voice and journalistic standards across all content
- Prepare for publishing by drafting headlines and descriptions that clearly communicate complex topics to a broad audience
You’ll need to have:
- 7+ years of experience in video production within a newsroom or digital publisher
- Extensive experience editing in Adobe Premiere and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to keep multiple time sensitive projects on track at a time with all stakeholders clear on timelines and expectations
- Demonstrated ability to write, produce, shoot and edit your own digital videos
- Strong news judgment with proven ability to research and break down complicated editorial concepts into clear scripts and interview questions
- Experience collaborating with print reporters to create visually compelling stories
- Experience working in person and remotely with freelance crews
- Experience with professional cameras (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic or equivalent) in both production and post production environments
