Bloomberg's Supply Chain department is seeking a Logistics and Warehouse Operative. The person will be part of the Operations team, supporting the daily activities of the Logistics, Warehouse & Production functions. The primary focus for the individual will be on optimising inbound and outbound activities and ensuring import and export procedures are followed. This role requires a strong personality who has experience working with Supply Chain leadership. A thorough understanding of international logistics requirements is essential, with a passion for driving continuous improvement.
What’s the role?
We are seeking a driven and results orientated individual to join our Warehouse Operations team based at our European Facility in Canning Town, London. This site is the main EMEA distribution hub for hardware, printed materials, event management and promotional items that are shipped to and from our customers. Our Supply Chain is key in helping over 350,000+ global customers operate using the Bloomberg Terminal and supporting 192 offices around the world. You will be part of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment that provides excellent service to both internal and external customers. You will work with many other internal departments at Bloomberg and be expected to provide a high level of customer service.
Core responsibilities will include processing goods-in, inventory and warehouse management, shipping across the region, analysis of key data points to drive process improvements and presentations to management. This includes accurately booking items into stock using SAP Warehouse Management, maintaining stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, picking stock and processing outbound deliveries through a Transport Management System.

- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of products in the warehouse.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensure our service performance targets are met for our internal and external clients.
- Coordinate with wider supply chain team to ensure suppliers and transport companies schedule deliveries and pickups.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock counts and audits.
- Implement and manage efficient warehouse layout and storage strategies.
- Coordinate import and export operations, ensuring compliance with international regulations and internal requirements.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including transport documents and invoices.
- Work closely with our logistics partners including parcel carriers, freight forwarders and other storage facilities.
- Stay updated on changes in import/export requirements and work closely with Bloomberg's International Trade team to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement procedures to streamline processes and improve service
- Support training, coaching, and development opportunities for self and others.
- Participate in regular performance reviews and help drive continuous improvements plans as necessary.
- The ability to prioritize your workload and work on your own initiative.

You'll need to have:
- Minimum of 7 years experience in a Logistics and Warehouse role,
- Strong understanding of logistics with working knowledge of import and export requirements.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems SAP (IM, WMS), Microsoft Office and related software.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in identifying and shipping dangerous goods in line with IATA regulations - in particular batteries
- Experience running operational data and use data visualization tools
- Experience working in an environment of constant change and be able to learn new processes and technologies quickly
- Proven success in continuous process improvements,
- Inventory database and stock control experience
- A one team approach and to be flexible in your day-to-day role with a can-do attitude
We'd love to see:
- A related degree or accreditation in Supply Chain, Import/Export controls and/or Logistics
- Previous warehouse experience in a blue-chip/FMCG environment
- Progression in previous roles and experience in leading people or projects
- Experience driving sustainability improvements
- Lean Six Sigma, Agile or other continuous improvement methods
