Description & Requirements
The Bloomberg Docs Unit is dedicated to telling ambitious multi-part narrative stories. We collaborate with teams across the world's largest newsroom, including Investigations, Tech, City Lab, Opinion, and more to bring Bloomberg’s best reporting to audio. Past releases include series like Levittown, In Trust and Spellcaster.
- Write episodes alongside hosts, producers and editors
- Book, pre-interview and prep questions for hosts
- Pull tape and assemble episodes
- Attend weekly show meetings
- Build episode assemblies include host tracking, other sound elements and scoring
- Participate in group edits for other episodes of the series
- Find and pull archive tape
- Conduct research on series and show topics.
- Assist in creating show and episode descriptions and other digital assets
- Other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years experience in podcasting and/or radio broadcasting.
- A knowledge of narrative audio.
- Ability to edit audio on deadline in Descript and Adobe Audition.
- Experience using recording equipment both in and out of the studio.
- Strong storytelling sensibilities
- Experience with fact checking.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline
- Experience working with sound design and scoring
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
