In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Quicktake to New Economy to our rapidly growing consumer subscription business.

We are looking for a Product Designer to lead and evolve our cross-platform experience systems and scalable patterns across web and app. You will help shape and grow our design system, working closely with product managers, developers, and designers to ensure it scales cohesively across platforms. At the same time, you’ll partner with designers across the organization to translate and adapt new features for the app—ensuring they align with our mobile design architecture and feel intuitive, intentional, and distinctly native. Balancing systems leadership with hands-on feature collaboration, you’ll strengthen the foundations that support our digital products while helping drive the evolution of our app experience.

We’ll trust you to:

  • User-Centric: Be a fierce advocate for our external and internal users. Shape scalable solutions that deliver on their needs backed by research, data, and a deep knowledge of our user base. Socialize learnings with the rest of the community.
  • User Experience: Demonstrate a strong understanding of interaction design, system-thinking, inclusive design, information architecture, multi-step, and cross-platform flows across a holistic user experience spanning web and native apps.
  • Product-thinking: Lead experience direction for our platform and systems alongside product and engineering partners. Ensure new app features align with broader experience principles and standards. Speak confidently about how your work connects to company objectives and strengthens our overall product ecosystem.
  • Systems Leadership: Evolve and maintain scalable design foundations across web and app. Partner with contributing designers to ensure patterns are cohesive, extensible, and aligned with native platform standards. Establish best practices that balance consistency with innovation.
  • Tools: Expertly employ design and prototyping tools, like Figma, to solve and communicate user flows, system components, interaction models and motion. Have familiarity with HTML and CSS to enable close collaboration with engineering partners.
  • Visual Design: Demonstrate and articulate understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and brand across platforms. Leverage and evolve visual frameworks and component libraries to strengthen consistency across surfaces.
  • Feedback: Share work early and often. Guide and support fellow designers contributing to systems or thinking cross-platform. Provide regular, direct and impactful feedback that elevates the overall quality and cohesion of the product.
  • Communication: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Communicate complex system decisions, trade-offs, and feature direction clearly across disciplines and levels in the organization. Shape narratives that bring stakeholders along in evolving standards.
  • Agility: Move fluidly between foundational systems work and hands-on feature collaboration in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Thrive in turning ambiguity into structured, actionable direction.

You’ll need to have:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in design or other design-related field.
  • 4+ years' experience as a digital product designer crafting consumer-facing web and mobile products.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or evolving design systems across multiple platforms. As well as actively contributing to consumer-facing mobile app feature initiatives.
  • Strong experience designing native mobile app experiences with a deep understanding of platform conventions (iOS and Android).
  • Experience working in close partnership with front-end or mobile engineers to ensure strong design–code parity
  • High proficiency in design and rapid prototyping tools like Figma, Proto.io, HTML/CSS.
  • Experience designing motion and interaction patterns aligned with native app and web platform conventions, using tools like Lottie or similar.
  • A portfolio of shipped products that demonstrate both end-to-end feature design and scalable systems thinking.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows and design-to-code tooling like Figma Code Connect.
We’d love to see:
